A director of plays, musicals, and new works, Lauren most recently served as Assistant Director to Gabriel Barre for The Scarlet Pimpernel at Lincoln Center, and was recently chosen as one of only 4 directors for the 2019 HERSTORY Festival in New Haven, CT.

Lauren directed the premiere of The F Word — a work outlining women’s rights by juxtaposing a documentary style with popular music of the time — at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Other directing work includes: A Christmas Carol at Greenwood Lake Theatre and Imaginary Boy, a new musical about cyber-bullying, for Living Lotus Project Productions. As an educator, Lauren has directed, musical directed, choreographed and/or adapted 20+ theatrical productions throughout the tri-state area.

Lauren’s partnership with Gabriel Barre continues as Associate Director for Billy Elliot at Goodspeed Musicals. She has also been the Assistant Director for Hunter Foster at Goodspeed Musicals and Cape Playhouse, David Kersnar at Lookingglass Theatre, Patrick Mullins at Virginia Stage Company, and Daniel Neiden at the Theatre at St. John’s in New York City.

Lauren has been a pianist since childhood and has musically directed productions throughout the US including Carousel, Hello Dolly, Sweet Charity, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and The Addams Family. Most recently, she served as Assistant Music Director on Amazing Grace at the Museum of the Bible under the direction of Gabriel Barre and Music Director, Keith Levenson.

As a writer, Lauren is the co-author of Elle & Eleanor: Across the Pond, the first adventure in a series of children chapter books, published in December 2018 and currently for purchase at Amazon. Lauren is currently writing an original musical that will receive its premiere in October at the 2019 Hartford Fringe Festival. It chronicles and interweaves six individuals as they journey towards the shores of Niagara Falls.

Lauren earned her Master of Arts degree in Theatre Direction from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, her Master of Music degree in Music Education from Boston University, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University.
